As you probably already know there&#8217;s a whole tradition out there of artists doing their own books. These books are true artworks in their deepest meaning: often we are talking about unique pieces or very limited-exclusive editions. The most different materials, forms and techniques get used to produce these pieces: the only basic rule is to stick to the concept of book or, in other words, the book has to be intended as a work of art in itself.<\/p>\n<p><em id=\"__mceDel\"> I got into it through my friend Delio Gennai who is organizing the upcoming group show &#8220;In LIBER-t\u00e0 Libri d&#8217;artista Percorsi tra esperienze storiche e ricerche contemporanee&#8221; in our beloved hometown Pisa: sometimes ago he asked me to do a piece for the exhibition. I had such a good time doing this that i ended up doing three pieces. Two of them will be shown in the exhibition and the third one you can see it in those pictures. Of course artist&#8217;s books are pretty different from what i usually do, but i think it&#8217;s really &#8220;healthy&#8221; to get out of your little comfort zone every now and then.<br \/>\nIf you&#8217;re in Pisa from 17th september till 23rd october you absolutely have to check the show, which is gonna be pretty much interesting: it&#8217;s located in four different places and it hosts the books of a lot of different artists.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>SMS- Centro Espositivo Museale San Michele degli Scalzi,Viale delle Piagge, Pisa<br \/>\nStudio Gennai, Via San Bernardo 6, Pisa<br \/>\nEdizioni ETS, Piazza Carrara 16-19, Pisa<br \/>\nBiblioteca Universitaria, Via Curtatone e Montanara 15, Pisa<\/p>\n<p>These are the spaces hosting the show. The first vernissages will be Sat. 17th september at SMS (h 17.00) and at Studio Gennai (h 19.00).
